ROUNDTALK

Thursday // 27.04. // 7 pm
IfA // Halle 4

The semester's roundtalk series is named RESET:

RESET - A lecture series on responsibility, resilience and rigour

We need to renavigate, We lost our destination. The route is to be negotiated, is there a common goal? This lecture series is asking about a reset in architecture. How did we come this far? Which disciplines do we need to include to master the present and future? What are we wishing for? We are asking our accomplices in architecture, art and urbanism about their ways to navigate their practice.

Our first Roundtalk this semester will be given by Dagmar Pelger.

Dagmar Pelger is an architect, taught at the TU and UDK Berlin and is currently a Visiting Professor for Sustainable Cities and Communities at the University of Kassel. Her dissertation „Spatial Commons versus Seperate Spaces. Zwei Modi der urbanen Raumproduktion“ describes urban space types of commons as potential commons spaces through cartographic analysis and is characterised by an interdisciplinary and participatory approach. She teaches and researches mapping methods as cooperative design tools and models of communitarian urban space production from landscape to neighbourhood. Since 2013, teaching formats have been created at CUD as part of the Spatial Commons series. The focus is not only on the content but also on the methodology of the commons, and authorships become blurred and intermingled. In the Roundtalk, Steffen Klotz, Nija Maria Linke, Franziska Bittner, Dagmar Pelger lead a conversation in the context of the publication „Spatial Commons. Zur Vergemeinschaftung urbaner Räume“.

The Roundtalk will be held in German, but questions in English are more than welcome!
