COMMUNITY OF SQUATTED PROSFYGIKA &
ARCHITEKT*INNENGEWERKSCHAFT

on the collective renovation of the neighbourhood of squatted Prosfygika

For fifteen years, one of Europe’s largest Squats has existed in the heart of Athens. The Community of Squatted Prosfygika, as a diverse mosaic built by people from below, has hosted, housed, fed, and supported thousands of individuals. It’s a self-organised project grounded in communal ownership, solidarity, mutual aid, and horizontality. 

On October 21, we will gain firsthand insight into the renovation process and learn how solidarity-based cooperation between numerous actors was initiated. 

Following the lecture, there will be a discussion with members of the architects‘ union, accompanied by drinks and pastries baked according to the original recipe of the Prosfygika bakery. The talk will be held in English with German interpretation.

The event is organized by the Internationalist Campaign for the Support and Defense of the Community of Squatted Prosfygika @int.saveprosfygika together with Architekt*innengewerkschaft @architektinnengewerkschaft and Roundabout e.V.
